The Founder
Raphael Grütter is based in the canton of Basel, Switzerland, and works in real estate — a field that quickly teaches you what lasts, and what doesn't. That perspective shaped Bordercross. Not as another brand, but as a counterpoint. To fast production. To surface over substance. To excess without intention. "I didn't start Bordercross to be part of this industry. I started it because I disagreed with it. Too much is produced. Too little of it matters. Everything is available — but almost nothing lasts. I wanted clothing that steps outside of that system. Reduced to what actually counts: material. Cut. Feel. No logos that shout. No designs that expire before they're even worn. Just pieces that get better with time. We develop in Switzerland. We produce in Portugal. We work with people who understand their craft — not because it sounds good, but because it's right." This is not a brand for everyone. And that's exactly why it works. If you need clothing to stand out, this isn't for you. If you know who you are, you'll need less of it. This is Bordercross.
